This past Spring, the BYU Folk Dance Ensemble embarked on a 3 week tour of the Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Our University Photographer joined them during their final week of the tour in Hanoi, Vietnam.
The Folk Dancers put on several dance workshops with local dance schools throughout their tour. These workshops are incredible opportunities to share their skills with others and learn native dances from the local dancers.
During their tour in Asia, the Folk Dancers put on a total of 7 workshops with local dancers. During this workshop with the Vietnam Dance Academy they taught local students how to dance the Charleston.
During their tour of Asia, the Folk Dancers were invited to perform during five different devotionals for local members of the Church and their friends. Several of the students were able to bear their testimonies and the group sang several musical numbers to local members of branches in Hanoi.
During their tour of Asia, the BYU Folk Dancers performed 7 different concerts in 7 different cities. It takes several hours to prepare a venue for a performance.
The final performance was an emotional one for the Folk Dancers. This concert marked the final performance for several members of the Folk Dance Ensemble.
