No. 4 BYU men's and no. 28 women's Cross Country teams traveled to Terre Houte, IN to compete in the NCAA Championships.
The days before the race the team warmed up on the course in a comfortable 70º's.
The temperature dropped the night before the race from the 70's to 40's with a crazy wind that never let up.
The women's team ran a powerful race and took 10th place overall with Erica Birk finishing 34th, earning her All-American honors.
Erica Birk (34th), Laura Young (72nd), Olivia Hoj (82nd), Yesenia Silva (114th), Ashleigh Warner (123rd), Courtney Wayment (153rd), Alice Jensen (170) combined for 328 points.
Despite the cold weather, the men's team finished strong in 7th place, with Nico Montanez placing 9th, earning him All-American honors, and Rory Linkletter placing 32nd, also earning him All-American honors.
This was the first time since 1995 that both BYU Cross Country teams finished in the top 10 at nationals.
